Government websites in three different states have been hacked by what appears to be a pro-ISIS group.

Websites in Ohio, New York, and Maryland have been hacked, with the normal websites being replaced with propaganda in favor of the so-called Islamic State.

The website for Ohio Gov. John Kasich had white and cherry-red text on a black screen, with Team System Dz taking credit for the hack.

Servers that were affected by the hack were taken offline, CNN reports, and are being investigated. Other Ohio websites were targeted, according to the news source, including first lady Karen Kasich and the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Corrections.

In a Facebook post, Ohio Treasurer Josh Mandel said the hacks should wake up freedom-loving Americans and said radical Islam was infiltrating the heartland.

In New York, the town of Brookhavens website was also hacked in a similar way. Town officials are meeting with security experts and federal officials regarding the hack, according to Newsday .

The page was hacked by the same Team System Dz group and same message left on Kasichs website, Newsday reported on Monday, and the towns website could be down for at the least another day.

Meanwhile the website for Howard County, Maryland, was likewise hacked, according to CNN. Howard County is near Baltimore and Washington , D.C.

Officials in New York and Maryland told no data or personal information was taken away from the websites as a result of the hack.
